Royale Legend Patriot Twin-Tip Spinning Rod and Reel Combo

I am hoping to be able to change this review. I ordered the Patriot Spinning combo to replace an older setup that was due for retirement. I was excited because I am a 22 year Veteran of the US Army with 9 deployments 6 of which were to Combat Zones. I received my order this weekend and the shipping box was completely destroyed, then I opened it and the shipping tube was destroyed and of course after I opened the shipping tube I found the Rod to be Broken as well. Was not to worried about it because I purchased the Seel Hassle Free Shipping Protection. So I contacted them and asked for an exchange. They replied with we do not do exchanges only refunds. I supplied them with pictures and a statement. I was told they would be in touch in 2 business day. After I completed that with them I immediately ordered a new combo set to replace the damaged one. This morning I get an email that basically told me they would give me 50% back and to look to see if the product was available from another vendor. Not sure what is hassle free about this. Hopefully things work out and I get me refund and my 2nd set I ordered shows up intact.

I love everything about this Combo. It looks and works amazing. Its my only rod that's a 2 piece and having a second rod tip gives peace of mind. I'll be taking this with me on every trip with my Lew's Combo.

I don’t regret this impulse purchase one bit, is it the best rod and reel I have no, but I bought this because KastKing had the gonadds to make this patriotic combo.

The Reel - super smooth feels great but the handle is not deserving of this reel and feel like the ball was dropped here, the handle has some flex to it, the white rubber just looks kinda cheap, also not crazy about the straight through shaft, I prefer how something like a Daiwa handles attach with a one piece crank.

The rod is ok again looks fantastic from a distance but up close the guide look kinda cheap, my wife has a KastKing Centron lite and the guides look much more rigid and just nicer looking in general.

Even with them drawbacks I mentioned I’m still giving this 5 stars because of the patriotism, I'm not actually fishing with this combo it’s solely a collector piece going on the wall. I would love to see the next patriot rod with better guides and crank I would glad pay for the upgrades.
